LISWANISO, ARMY OF YOUTHS READY TO PROTECT HICHILEMA’S VOTES COUNTRYWIDE.
United Party for National Development (UPND) National Youth Chairman Gilbert Liswaniso has announced that the ruling party's youth structures are fully prepared and on high alert to protect President Hakainde Hichilema's votes across the country. Speaking during recent nationwide mobilization tours, Liswaniso stressed the critical importance of grassroots presence, urging party members and foot soldiers not to abandon polling stations after casting their ballots. He emphasized that maintaining constant vigilance and observing electoral processes are vital to securing a transparent and credible outcome. Liswaniso strongly cautioned the youth against engaging in any form of political violence, reminding them that the UPND's core philosophy centers on civil engagement and democratic principles rather than intimidation. He noted that the era of aggressive political maneuvers and lawlessness belongs to the past, calling instead for orderly conduct and respect for the rule of law. According to the youth leader, protecting the ballot means standing firm through peaceful observation and ensuring that the collective choice of the Zambian electorate is accurately reflected without interference. The announcement comes amidst heightened political activities as various political formations intensify their campaigns across the country. The UPND leadership has consistently maintained that grassroots mobilization and active community engagement remain their strongest assets in retaining political power. By deploying youth structures to monitor polling stations, the party aims to preempt any logistical irregularities or disputes that typically characterize high-stakes electoral contests in Zambia's vibrant multi-party democracy. Political analysts view this strategy as a double-edged sword, noting that while mobilization is necessary for election defense, it requires strict internal discipline to prevent clashes with opposing political camps.
