Update: High Court moves Mundubile and Makebi Zulu's sedition case from Solwezi to Lusaka as the treason bail hearing is adjourned
**Update:** Earlier coverage said the Solwezi High Court would rule on Thursday on where the sedition case should be heard; the ruling is now out, the case goes to Lusaka with leave to appeal, and the treason bail hearing was adjourned to Friday 6 November at 09:00. The High Court in Solwezi has ordered that the sedition case against opposition leader Brian Mundubile and Tonse Pamodzi Alliance vice-president Makebi Zulu be moved to a subordinate court in Lusaka, ending a dispute over where the two men should be tried. Justice E.L. Musona delivered the ruling on Thursday 5 November under Section 80 of the Criminal Procedure Code, found that the Solwezi Subordinate Court was not the correct and appropriate forum, and granted leave to appeal. In his reasons, Justice Musona noted that Mr Mundubile and Mr Zulu live in Lusaka, that nobody disputed this, and that they were arrested and held in custody there. He concluded that Lusaka is the more convenient and appropriate place for the trial. The two men had been taken about 440 kilometres between Kabwe and Solwezi for their hearings. The State charged the pair with two counts of seditious practices under Section 57 of the Penal Code. The allegations relate to Facebook livestreams and posts after the 13 August general election. Mr Mundubile is accused of publishing material claiming that his party's parallel vote tabulation showed he had won, and of calling on the Electoral Commission of Zambia to resume a halted vote count. Mr Zulu is accused of posting that Mr Mundubile would address the nation and urging the public to stay on standby. The State had wanted the trial in Solwezi and had lined up witnesses there. ## The treason bail hearing The sedition ruling is separate from the treason case, in which Mr Mundubile and Mr Zulu are charged together with 16 others, 18 accused in all. The co-accused include 68-year-old retired Anglican Bishop Trevor Mwamba, George Chisanga and Patrick Mwansa. On the same day, constitution
