When private becomes public, Zambia’s digital privacy crisis.
Zambia is currently facing a profound challenge to digital privacy, marked by an alarming rise in the non-consensual sharing of intimate videos, commonly known as 'revenge porn'. This pervasive issue, where private sexual images or recordings are disseminated without the consent of the individuals involved, has become a significant concern across various social strata, transcending age and socio-economic boundaries. The digital age, while offering unprecedented connectivity, has simultaneously created fertile ground for such violations, enabling content to spread rapidly and uncontrollably across social media platforms and messaging applications.
