:\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nPurpose\r\n\r\nResponsible for identifying staff training development needs and for planning, organizing, and conducting appropriate training and assessments for engineering and operational employees across the site to achieve maximum competence, maintain, and improve the efficiency of Mechanical maintenance and operations.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nKey Responsibilities\r\n\r\nThis position will be required to adhere to all relevant requirements, policies, procedures and legal regulations pertaining to health, safety, environment, and quality, as well as finance, human resources, and any other regulations as required by the company and relevant to the level of the role and responsibilities of the function. An individual must be able to perform each essential function/duty satisfactorily, including:\r\n\r\n \t\r\n\r\n \tLiaise with relevant sections within the engineering department to determine mechanical training and development needs in line with KMP\u2019s short- and long-term operational needs\r\n \tLiaise with the planning section to determine training needs related to machine breakdowns and defects.\r\n \tReview and determine the needs and competence levels of employees.\r\n \tConsolidate a Mechanical technical training plan to meet all operational and maintenance needs and deliver training to bridge gaps in employees\u2019 skills and knowledge.\r\n \tDevelop mechanical training packages (both theory and practical) according to identified training needs and maintain them to acceptable standards.\r\n \tUpdating existing Mechanical training packages\r\n \tSelect appropriate training methods or activities for implementation.\r\n \tLiaise with trainees\u2019 supervisors on training schedules and ensure timely delivery of training.\r\n \tAssess/evaluate instructional effectiveness and determine the impact of training on learners\u2019 skills and KPIs through Planned Tasks Observations\r\n \tCarry out training needs identification during breakdowns, shutdowns, and planned maintenance jobs to formulate training programs to close the gap (lacking skills and knowledge) in employees\r\n \tMaintain and manage training records and training matrices for all trainees in the approved Training/Learning management system\r\n \tDevelop and maintain productive relations and effective communication with stakeholders to establish training needs and report on training progress.\r\n \tPractices safe work habits and follows general safety procedures\r\n \tEnsure that company procedures and safety regulations are reinforced to minimize accidents and optimize production.\r\n \tMaintaining an appropriate reporting schedule as determined by the Senior Specialist, Technical\r\n \tAny other duties as may be reasonably requested by the supervisor in line with effective operations of the Training Department.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nQualifications\r\n\r\n \tMinimum Technician or Technology Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.\r\n \tTechnical Teacher Certificate / Diploma in Teaching Methodology from a recognized institution.\r\n \tAll academic qualifications and results must be verified by the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA).\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nExperience\r\n\r\n \t\r\n\r\n \tA minimum of 5 years\u2019 Mechanical work experience in the Mining Industry\r\n \tMinimum 2 years\u2019 experience in the Training and Development field, preferably in a Mining environment.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nBEHAVIOURAL TRAITS\r\n\r\n \tHigh level of communication skills and the ability to present ideas clearly and concisely\r\n \tGood ability to interact with team members and trainees effectively\r\n \tGood ability to report and interact with senior maintenance and operations leadership effectively\r\n \tAbility to identify and suggest changes to maintenance and operational practices\r\n \tGood at implementing changes in training practice\r\n\r\n\r\n \tSystematic monitoring and assessment skills\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nOPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS\r\n\r\n \tStandby and overtime where required\r\n \tWork effectively with minimum supervision\r\n \tWorking at heights\r\n \tExposure to dust, heat, noise and chemicals\r\n \tSkilled user of Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).","datePosted":"2026-05-11T10:24:54","validThrough":"2026-05-21T00:00:00","employmentType":"FULL_TIME","hiringOrganization":{"@type":"Organization","name":"First Quantum Mineral","sameAs":"https://jobwebzambia.com/jobs/specialist-training-fixed-plant-mechanical-maintenance-first-quantum-mineral/"},"jobLocation":{"@type":"Place","address":{"@type":"PostalAddress","streetAddress":"LUSAKA","addressLocality":"LUSAKA","postalCode":"10101","addressRegion":"LUSAKA","addressCountry":"ZM"}},"baseSalary":{"@type":"MonetaryAmount","currency":"ZMK","value":{"@type":"QuantitativeValue","value":"445","minValue":"1113","maxValue":"11134","unitText":"MONTH"}}} Home About Us Contact Privacy Policy DMCA Policy Login/Register Submit a Job Home Submit Jo...
