Description We are not looking for another lawyer. We are looking for a professional capable of: β creating opportunities β building relationships β and converting legal needs into structured international engagements Oikonomakis Law is an international, multi-jurisdictional law firm with presence across Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Oceania. As part of our global expansion, we are seeking an International Legal & Business Development Representative based in Zambia or Nigeria. ROLE DEFINITION: This is NOT a legal execution role. The position does NOT involve: β handling legal cases β providing legal representation β executing legal work The role is strictly focused on: β client acquisition β relationship building β structuring engagements β transferring matters to internal legal teams CORE RESPONSIBILITIES: β Identify and attract clients (local and international) β Build strategic relationships with businesses, investors and professionals β Understand client needs and structure legal engagements β Act as primary interface between client and firm β Transfer matters to relevant internal departments β Maintain long-term client relationships β Participate in international business and investment opportunities SCOPE OF ACTIVITY: The role is NOT geographically limited. The successful candidate may: β generate local clients β generate international clients β initiate cross-border matters and will operate across ALL firm jurisdictions and offices Requirements IDEAL PROFILE: We are looking for someone who: β can generate business β understands how to close deals β has strong communication skills β can operate independently β has strategic thinking BACKGROUND: Candidates may come from: β Legal profession β Legal advisory β Corporate advisory β Investment / consulting β Business development in professional services A law degree is valuable, but not mandatory Business generation ability is mandatory REQUIRED CAPABILITIES: β Business & Commercial Skills: β Client acquisition experience β Negotiation skills β Relationship development β Financial Understanding: β Understanding of pricing and value β Basic financial literacy β Ability to position legal services commercially β Technical Skills: β Advanced Excel β PowerPoint β CRM / client tracking systems β Digital communication tools β International Mindset: β Ability to operate across jurisdictions β Comfortable working with international teams APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS: Candidates must submit: β CV β Brief description of business development experience β Compensation expectations Applications without: β clear business development experience β or without strategic mindset will NOT be considered Benefits β Access to international legal structure β Exposure to global client base β Participation in multi-jurisdictional operations β Long-term growth potential within firm structure Sharing is Caring!
