The Company owns and operates a large-scale coal mine and a 300 Megawatt coal-fired Power Plant to cater for the growing demand for power in Zambia. Maamba Energy Limited is looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic professional to build a career under the Civil Engineering Section/Mining Department in Maamba, Sinazongwe District, Southern Province. The position on offer is: Purpose of the Role: The Civil Engineer provides technical engineering expertise, field supervision, and logistics management for civil construction and maintenance works, supporting the Senior Civil Engineer in delivering MEL’s civil works programme. They will supervise all civil and construction works at MEL’s mine, township, and office facilities ensuring quality and safety are maintained; planning budgets and purchase requisitions; overseeing construction execution and maintenance; and providing technical supervision and mentorship to junior civil staff. Key Responsibilities: Civil Works Planning & Logistics Prepare budgetary proposals, quantity estimates, and cost plans in line with the approved civil works programme. Prepare purchase requisitions for materials, equipment, and services; schedule material and equipment deliveries in coordination with Procurement and Stores. Assist in preparing risk assessments for civil works activities; maintain an inventory of fixtures, fittings, and civil materials as required. Civil Works Execution & Supervision Supervise the execution of civil works — including site supervision, logistics arrangements, and coordination of the Civil Supervisor and work teams. Ensure all projects comply with legal requirements, especially health and safety, and assess the sustainability and environmental impact of construction activities. Inspect project sites regularly to monitor progress and ensure conformance t
