Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Officer Location: Lusaka, Zambia (with regional site travel) | Department: Operations | Reports to: Operations Manager Timbuktu Zambia Limited is looking for an Operations & Maintenance Officer to keep our solar installations running at their best and our clients well informed. This is a hybrid role: part field and workshop technical problem-solving, part desk-based reporting and client communication. We need someone equally comfortable with a multimeter and a monthly report card. ABOUT THE ROLE You will be responsible for the day-to-day operations and maintenance of solar PV and battery installations across our client sites, while also owning the administrative and communication side of O&M — performance report cards, client calls, and maintenance scheduling. You’ll be the technical face of Timbuktu that clients hear from regularly, so strong communication matters as much as strong technical judgement. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Technical Perform routine and corrective maintenance on solar PV systems, inverters, batteries, and associated electrical infrastructure Diagnose and troubleshoot system faults on-site and remotely, escalating warranty issues to manufacturers where required Monitor system performance data and flag underperformance or anomalies proactively Coordinate spare parts, tools, and site logistics for maintenance visits Ensure all work is carried out to Timbuktu’s health, safety, and quality standards Administrative & Client-Facing Compile and distribute monthly system performance report cards to clients, in Timbuktu’s standard format Make regular check-in calls to clients to discuss system performance, address concerns, and schedule visits Maintain accurate maintenance logs, service records, and client communication history Prepare O&M status updates for internal management reporting Support contract administration relating to O&M scope, service level agreements, and warranty tracking WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR A technical quali
