The Key Purpose of this position is to lead and manage the Packaging Department (People, Plant, Process and Systems) in order to achieve the required standard of product quality and output in the most efficient and effective manner. Key Roles and Responsibilities: Maintain safe healthy and risk-free working environment Implement and comply with safety, health and environmental legislation and procedures Maintain safety and housekeeping standards Identification and closure of unsafe practices and conditions through SIO’s Adherence to PPE policies and standards Safe maintenance practice compliance & audits 5S standard adherence Autonomous operation tools in a safe and good working order Safety inspections conducted Ensure staff medical compliance Compliance to environmental policies Manage Human Resources Develop employees. Ensure a healthy industrial relations climate. Manage and apply people policies and practices. Develop employees Manage talent and pipeline in packaging Optimise Team Performance Facilitate effective team dynamics. Implement performance management and OPR processes Communicate effectively in the workplace. Manage plant, process and systems Manages packaging in accordance with VPO tools and principles Monitor and manage production processes to within budgets Optimise production plan and shifts across the hall, aligned to agreed Run Strategies Ensure and maintain a safe and healthy work env
