:\r\nJob market analysis\r\nOverall Job Purpose\r\n\r\n \tThe Operations Specialist \u2013 Transport holds a dual technical and operational role, responsible for the end-to-end oversight, coordination, and continuous optimisation of all internal transport systems at FQM Trident. The position combines hands-on operational management with technical evaluation and improvement of transport processes, systems, and contractor performance to ensure safe, compliant, efficient, and secure movement of people and assets across the site.\r\n \tThis role carries full accountability for the planning, execution, and performance monitoring of transport activities delivered by multiple contracting companies. It ensures strict adherence to contractual obligations, safety standards, site procedures, and applicable legislative requirements, while also assessing technical efficiencies, risk controls, and service delivery models.\r\n \tServing as the central coordination point between Security, Operations, contractors, and key stakeholders, the role drives operational continuity, data-informed decision-making, and continuous improvement initiatives. The role plays a critical part in maintaining uninterrupted transport services, managing VIP movements, overseeing site bussing operations, and upholding FQM\u2019s safety, security, and governance standards\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nSpecific Job Responsibility\r\n\r\n \tProvides end-to-end technical and operational oversight of all internal transport activities, including site bussing, VIP movements, and ad hoc services.\r\n \tHolds full accountability for contractor-delivered transport services, ensuring safe, reliable, and uninterrupted operations.\r\n \tCoordinates and manages bussing contractors, ensuring compliance with contracts, schedules, safety standards, and site requirements.\r\n \tUtilises transport monitoring systems (GPS tracking, in-cab monitoring, and clocking systems) to verify service delivery, monitor driver behaviour, and improve efficiency.\r\n \tEnsures compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and safety standards, supporting audits and incident investigations.\r\n \tManages contractor performance and KPIs using operational oversight and system-generated data.\r\n \tActs as the primary transport liaison, supporting stakeholders and driving data-informed reporting, risk management, and continuous improvement.\r\n \tNeeds to manage all Security Operations at the Mine Main Entrance area, including truck management from the truck park.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nJob Specific Competencies\r\n\r\n \t\r\n\r\n \tStrong technical and operational understanding of transport and logistics within an industrial or mining environment.\r\n \tProven ability to manage multiple contractors and coordinate complex operations.\r\n \tSolid knowledge of contract management, compliance, governance, and performance monitoring systems.\r\n \tExperience in using transport monitoring technologies (e.g., GPS tracking, in-cab systems, and clocking tools) to support decision-making and oversight.\r\n \tStrong risk awareness with the ability to make sound, timely decisions.\r\n \tWell-developed planning, coordination, and organisational skills.\r\n \tEffective communication and stakeholder engagement across multiple levels.\r\n \tHigh level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nKey Job Attributes\r\n\r\n \tStrong sense of ownership for both operational delivery and system oversight.\r\n \tDecisive, calm, and practical in problem-solving, including during high-pressure or time-sensitive situations.\r\n \tDetail-oriented with a strong compliance and data-driven mindset.\r\n \tAble to work independently while effectively leveraging monitoring systems and operational controls.\r\n \tTrustworthy and capable of managing sensitive, confidential, and high-risk movements.\r\n \tCollaborative and relationship-driven, with the ability to work across multiple stakeholders and contractors.\r\n \tStrong safety focus, with a zero-tolerance approach to non-compliance.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nExperience required to perform in this job\r\n\r\n \tMinimum 5+ years\u2019 experience in transport operations, logistics, security operations, or contractor management, with both operational and systems exposure.\r\n \tProven experience overseeing large-scale transport or bussing operations, preferably in mining or industrial environments.\r\n \tDemonstrated experience managing multiple contracted service providers, including performance and compliance oversight.\r\n \tHands-on experience with transport monitoring systems (e.g., GPS tracking, in-cab monitoring, and clocking systems) for operational control and reporting.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nQualifications\r\n\r\nMinimum:\r\n\r\n \tGrade 12 Full Certificate\r\n \tQualification in Transport Management, Logistics, Operations Management, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related\u00a0technical/operational\u00a0field.\r\n\r\n\r\n \tTechnical certificati...
